الزمن الماضي التام
THE PAST PERFECT TENSE
It is used to express two actions one preceded the other in the past.
يستعمل للتعبير عن حدثين احدهما سبق الآخر في الماضي.
القاعدةThe rule
Subject + had + past participle, e.g.:
1. When we reached the field, the match had started.
2. Ali had learned English before he came to England.
3. Ali had finished his homework when he turned on the radio.
4. After we had reached our country, we welcomed our guests.
القاعدة في حالة ألاستفهام THE RULE:
Had + subject + past participle, e.g.:
1 Had Ali learned English before he came to England?
2 had Ali finished his homework when he turned on the radio?
3.When we reached the field, had the match started?
القاعدة في حالة النفي THE RULE:
Subject+ Had +not+ past participle, e.g.:
1.When we reached the field, the match had not started.
2.Ali had not learned English before he came to England.
3. Ali had not finished his homework, when he turned on the radio.

لاحظ أن after تأتي فقط مع الزمن الماضي التام بينماbefore and when تأتي فقط مع الماضي البسيط.
