Dear brothers and sisters here are some Englisg proverbs translated into Arabic Enjoy قد أعذر من أنذر Forewarned is forearmed أعط كل ذي حق حقه Give the devil his due إذا بليتم فاستتروا Don't wash your dirty linen in public إرضاء الناس غاية لاتدرك There's no contenting some people الطيور على أشكالها تقع Birds of a feather flock together إن تذكر الشيطان يحضر فورا Talk of the devil and he'll appear الأفعال أبلغ من الأقوال Actions speak louder than words الأقربون أولى بالمعروف Charity begins at home الأماني لا تدرك بالتمنيات If wishes were horses, beggars might ride االإتحاد قوة Union is strength التفاحة العفنة تفسد جاراتها The rotten apple injures its neighbors الجمال جمال النفس Beauty is skin deep الجوع كافر A hungry man is an angry man الحب أعمى Love is blind الصبر مفتاح الفرج Patience is a remedy for every grief الصديق وقت الضيق A friend in need is a friend indeed الضرورة تبيح المحظورات Make a virtue of necessity العظمة لله A cat may look at a king (comment: I'm not sure about this one) العين بالعين والسن بالسن Eye for an Eye, life for a life الغاية تبرر الوسيلة The end justifies the means من شابه أباه فما ظلم Like father like son Every dog has its day لكل يومه New brooms sweep clean لكل جديد بهجته/ لذته Man proposes, God disposes الأنسان في التفكير والله قي التدبير / وثقدرون وتضحك الأقدار When in Rome do as the Romans do دارهم ما دمت في دارهم / اذا كنت في قوم فاحلب في انائهم Grasp all lose all الطمع غرار عقباه خسار / القناعة كنز لا يفنى He laughs best who laughs last رب هازئ سيهزأ به One man's death is another man's breath مصاب قوم عند قوم فوائد Half a loaf is better than no bread الكحل خير من العمى The proof of the pudding is in the eating عند الإمتحان يكرم المرء أو يهان Out of sight out of mind البعد جفاء / بعيد عن العين ، بعيد عن القلب Money makes money الدراهم بالدراهم تكسب A stitch in time saves nine درهم وقاية خير من فنطار علاج / التدبير نصف المعيشة Spare the rod and spoil the child من ادب ولده ربحه / العصا لمن عصا what drops from you will never climbs you again ما طاح منك مارقاك The absent party is not faulty الغايب عذره معه Actions speak louder than words العبرة بالأعمال وليست بالأقوال Add fuel to the fire يزيد الطين بلة Address people in the language they can understand خاطب الناس على قدر عقولهم Advice is ever in want لا خاب من استشار After black clouds, clear weather كل شدة وتهون،الصبر مفتاح الفرج Always has been, always will be من شبّ على شيء شاب عليه A chip of the old block هذا الشبل من ذاك الأسد Do as you would be done عامل الناس كا تحب أن يعاملوك Cut your coat according to your cloth على قدر لحافك مد رجليك، رحم الله إمرءاً عرف قدر نفسه Conciliation is the matter of the law الصلح سيد الأحكام A creaking gate hangs long الباب ذو الصرير يعيش طويلاً Do good and cast it into the sea اعمل خير والقه في البحر Easy come, easy go ما يأتي بسهولة يذهب بسهولة،ما لا تجلبه الرياح تأخذه الزوابع The end justifies the means الغاية تبرر الوسيلة Every tide has its ebb لكل جواد كبوة It is the end that counts إنما العبرة بالنهاية To error is human كل ابن آدم خطاّء Every cloud has a silver lining رب ضارة نافعة Don’t put your head in the lions mouth لا تلقوا بأيديكم إلى التهلكة A friend in need is a friend indeed الصديق وقت الضيق A flash in the pan رمية من غير رامي No gains without pains لا نتيجة بدون ألم،لا حلاوة بدون نار When a woman steals your man, there is no better revenge than to let her keep him عندما تسرق امرأة أخرى زوجك فأن أفضل انتقام بأن تتركيها تحتفظ به Never regret. If it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it's experience لا تندم فإن كانت على ما يرام فذلك جيد وان كانت غير ذلك فقط اكتسبت خبره The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naïve forgive and forget; the wise forgive but do not forget. الغبي لا يسامح ولا ينسى, الساذج يسامح وينسى لكن الحكيم يسامح ولا ينسى Forgive your enemies, but never, never forget their names سامح أعداءك لكن لا تنسى أسمائهم The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the لا يستطيع الضعيف أن يسامح لأن السماح رمز القوة Forgive the people who truly love you and love the people who truly forgive you سامح محبيك وحب مسامحيك No one can make you feel inferior without your consent لا احد يجعلك تشعر بالدناءة بدون رضاك |
